Owl City is funny

I have no idea who is behind Owl City. I know his name is Adam, and that's about it.

But he has this really hilarious Twitter page, and I thought I'd post some of
his tweets, because, well, we like funny.

"Today I saw UPS truck and a FedEx truck racing. I cheered"

"A tennis match between two buffaloes is called a bisontennial"

"I used to be a professional skier, but I quit because my career was going downhill"

"Today I asked my little brother what he wants to be someday. He said a snowman. I support his decision 100%"

"I got angry when my cell phone died. My counselor suggested I find an outlet"

"Massage therapy is a touchy subject"

"A man stole a case of soap from the corner store. The police said he made a clean getaway"

"Police were called to a day care center. A three-year-old was resisting a rest"

"Cashiers really know how to take charge"

"I got a job in a candy factory and tripped and fell in a huge vat of bubble gum. My boss got super angry and chewed me out"

"Two satellite dish antennas fell in love and got married. The wedding was sorta weird but the reception was fantastic"

One kind of funny thing that happened to me today goes as follows. Don't expect too much. It wasn't hilarious, just kind of funny.

I was walking around after a class with my clipboard pressed up against my chest. And I started talking to my good friend Courtney. And we went on and on for awhile, just talking about normal things. Then this guy we both kind of know came up and was staring at me with a funny expression and had his head cocked in a really odd position.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Oh, just trying to read what you have on your clipboard that you're keeping so secret" he said.
I dropped it, revealing my class notes.

He looked at them for awhile then looked back up. "Just notes, huh?"
"No, actually they are a special CIA code that you are not supposed to see under any circumstance" I said.
"Yeah, sorry Josh. We have to kill you now" said Courtney.

[Note to self: If I want to keep up what Emma darling calls my "Mysteriousness" I should carry around clipboards more, and every so often look at people, then scribble notes down. That would be funny]

Thats all for now, my comedy lovers. I shall return again. I promise.

By the way, I furthermore excuse Paige for lack of posting. All you blog people must understand that she deals with about 1,000,0000x more stress than I do, and so, she amazes me with how she handles it all. I pray she gets to a place where it all settles down...=]] You are a great friend Paige, and I know you'll be fine.

Weather Channel Joke

I'm gonna try a new joke out on you guys if thats okay. I'm sure someone has said this before, but I don't know of anyone, specifically, who has said it so I will tell it while I can.
I love how the weather channel, wwhen doing local on the 8's has really cheerful or really calming jazz music on while giving you the forecast, so no matter how bad the radar looks, you will always know "it's going to be ok". The entire screen could be red and there could be tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes all around you but it's all good because the have smooth jazz on in the background, and we know that the weather channel would never be deceiving. *sarcasm*
uh thats all i have for now so thanks!

What if we treated all athletes the way we treat skateboarders?

I think this is a really funny video. It's one in a series of video's Nike has done. But the funny thing is, this one is Golf, and Paige plays Golf, and I skate. So, yeah. While it may no be hilariously funny, it is rather funny. Skateboarding is not a crime people.

Venting

I want to try something. I'm gonna give everyone a chance to vent a little bit here. just out of curiosity, what time do you all wake up for school? I get up around 5:40. School starts at 7:45 and goes till 3:10...uh...yeah. Its late so I wont give my self a chance to complain (trust me, I'll go on for days...and you think i'm joking), so I just want to know who has it the worst? Whoever wins gets complaining rights. I'll do a whole 'nother blog thing about what I call complaining rights but for now we'll just stick with this. SO, you don't have to say anything if you don't want to. And if you haven't started school yet, I hate you. Just kidding. I don't really know how to end this so uh...ready, set, GO!?

What I've Learned in School + Demetri Martin Video

Im sorry to everyone who has been waiting for stuff to be posted. School started for me wednesday (the 19th) and the golf season started the 12. I can tell you I've been in absolut hell just from getting used to everything again, which is strange cuz I feel like I didn't even have a summer. I think Jillian told me she started the 17th which is even worse. I have a list that I made from all the times I was angry about school and disapointed that it has never and will never get better, called..."What I've Learned in School" which is not as boring as it sounds. I'm cosidering putting some of the list up. Im not sure if I should cuz my mom always tells me the internet is never safe and anyone can see this stuff and it could hurt you if you go to find a job and what not...any one else have the same thing? at least she cares. Heres just a sample of the list. These are from freshman year when I was supposed to be writing a paper. these are some of my first.

-People still fart and it is getting annoying no matter how funny it is (not gonna lie, farting is hilarious, just not in confined public spaces
-people have learned to keep it silent but deadly but have not yet learned how to stop
-There are a lot more emos in the world than I thought
-Youtube, The Lonely Island, and itunes are like medication for me, I need them otherwise I can't go on

and heres something else incase that wasnt funny. He starts making funnies in the middle, just wait for it. I love Demetri Martin.

JESUS Est. 1

I came up with this idea along time ago but thought I'd share with you all (Jillian knows about it already). I feel like I've said this before so if i have, ignore this post.

You know how they always have those shirts that say, for example, Abercrombie and Fitch est. 1892 or something like that? I always thought it would be fun to have a shirt that says Jesus but instead it would say est. 1, because it only makes sense right? Jillian and I came up with our own pictures for it...

Here's mine. I found a picture from the show Cheers and just messed with it. That's not exactly how it would look but somewhat close.

Here's Jillian's. I don't know how she did it but its awesome.

Top Gear

I hate to say it but this is more of a serious blog ,and believe me, I hate to do this, but this has been on my mind for all of about 4 hours. I just viewed the season finale of Top Gear, which is an awesome British show all about cars. I know the car stuff might send a groan over the audience of a whopping 7 followers, but I promise if you watch other stuff from the show it will be hilarious. The reason I brought this up was because of the final segment they had for the season finale. If you've seen any other things from this show, you'll know that everything is done all in good fun, but this is just oddly serious for them and it's confuzing me. The clip features the lovely Aston Martin V12 Vantage and if you really focus on the beauty of the car and the sound it makes, you might understand the whole "sadness" thing Jermey [Clarkson] (one of the hosts) is getting at. Just the way he says goodnight is chilling but yet comforting at the sametime.

Also, I wanted to say that whoever directed this was a genious. I absolutely love how they are showing all these pictures of old and new supercars, muscle cars, and a bunch of other greats embeded in nature. Also the disolves between the Aston and the nature scenes with the engine roaring everyonce in a while just kind of show, I think, that as we are trying to fix what our love of gas has done to nature over the years, the car is not really an art anymore. In the confusion, everything is just blending together even though cars might be close to nature already. Its just a challenge to get it to be more kind to nature, and the beauty of it all (the artistry, the engine, the power, the excitement, the speed) seems to be suffering. Soon it will all be forgotten as our obsession changes from speed to environmentally friendly. In a way, it's good that we are concerned about the future of life and the planet, but I can't help feeling more of a sadness for the brilliant minds that designed and brought these cars to life. Their work might mean nothing to us anymore in a few years time. Either way, the directior for this show deserves an award. Thanks for reading my drawn out presentation of exactly what my mind is thinking about.

Competitive Puzzling?

I just discovered I can rant about myslef on my blog page thing. So I guess I could say I updated my profile. Check it out if you feel like it. Its definitely not done. Okay thanks then. And I promise I'll post something of value soon.

P.S. I discovered today that competitive puzzling would be an awesome sport. I was doing a puzzle today and as I was picking out pieces, I heard announcers in my head like, "ooooh, she's not gonna like that one. She's gonna have to put it back in the box and wait to find a good spot for that one. Awww, that was a tough blow to her game. She's gonna have to get her act together if she's gonna have any chance of finnishing her puzzle before our previous champion."

Hey

I haven't posted in a while so I guess I should...btw it's Paige again. I'm not gonna lie, I have absolutely nothing to say so please forgive me, this blog is expected to be ultra boring. What's been on my mind lately... *everyone gets up and leaves like, OH GOD, not another "let's talk about my feelings" bit*... jkjkjkjkjkjk. I can't tell you all my feelings yet...we haven't been to first base. Haha, no, uh, so. I've been thinking lately that there are so many ridiculous shows on tv, namely, reality shows; and the Discovery Channel is "going to town" on them. There's Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Swamp Loggers, a few other logger shows, and a bunch of other stuff like that on other jobs. I can understand if any of y'all like 'em (I'm not Texan, I promise)cuz I know a few people that do, but I have to say they are just over dramatizing EVERYTHING. Now when you think of it this way, calling it "crab fishing" it doesn't sound so bad. However, when you sprinkle some dangerand drama on the name, it becomes DEADLIEST CATCH. I don't know who to believe on how bad it really is but to me; these shows are just way over done.

Uh oh. I just discovered you can color your writing...this is going to take a lot longer.

SO...uh, I just ranted and I'm kinda done. Here...as soon as i think of something, I'll blog ya back. K? great, thnx, :)... (kinda looks like he's drooling, eh? I didn't mean it, I swear)

This a funny, yet true quote =]

I read this in book when I was in 7th grade or so, it stuck to me ever since.

"'What do you want for your birthday, Rose?'
'Nothing,' I said.
'Now Rosy Pose come out of those leaves and don't be useless!' Said Michael. 'Do you seriously expect me to buy nothing, wrap up nothing, stick a gift tag on nothing, send a card saying I really hope you like your nothing, and lie awake worrying that the nothing I got you was just the right color nothing that you always wanted? Have a heart!"
_Caddy Ever After, by Hilary McKay

Take that! All you people who've told me they want "nothing"!

Peace!
Jillian
